General Instructions

    First time applicants are applicants that have not used this system before and have no accounts to enable them to login to the system using their username and passwords. These applicants are required to get registered first.
    Existing applicants are applicants who have completed Registration in this system before and were able to create accounts to enable them to login to the system using their username and password. These applicants can login to the system anytime.     NECTA FORM Four Index Number should be in the format: S0XXX/XXXX/YYYY or P0XXX/XXXX/YYYY.
    Example: S0750.0023 or P0750.0023.
    Applicant will be able to Login after completing Registration.
    Registration enables applicant to create account in this system and obtain Username and Password.
    Registration should only be done once. After completion, applicant should only Login using obtained username and password.
    Username will be applicant’s NECTA FORM Four Index Number followed by a year of completion, e.g.: S0XXX/XXXX/YYYY or P0XXX/XXXX/YYYY
    Example: S0751/0023/2016 or P0751/0023/2016.
    When logged in applicant will be able to make application fee payment and complete the application.
    Online application will only be visible for filling once application fee is paid.

    In order to successfully complete the application; applicant is required to complete all steps from Home to Submit your application.

Mzumbe University invites applications from qualified Tanzanians and non-Tanzanians for admission into diploma and certificate programmes offered by the University for the academic year 2019/2020.

Mzumbe University offers 25 Bachelor Programmes for the academic year 2019/20. Among these programmes, Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing (BBA-MKT), Bachelor of Accounting and Finance in Business Sector (BAF-BS), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Bachelor in Human Resource Management (BHRM) are offered at both Mzumbe University Main Campus and Mbeya Campus College. Applicants wishing to be enrolled into one of these programmes have to clearly indicate their campus preferences during their applications. Other Bachelor Programmes are offered at the Main Campus-Morogoro.

Also Mzumbe University offers 7 Diploma and 9 Certificate Programmes for the academic year 2019/20. All Diploma Programmes are offered at Mbeya Campus College except for Diploma in Applied Statistics (DAS) and Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) which are offered at the Main Campus-Morogoro. All Certificate Programmes are offered at the Main Campus-Morogoro except for Certificate in Accountancy (CA) and Certificate in Human Resource Management (CHRM) which are offered at Mbeya Campus College.

Any programme with the code starting with MU is offered at Mzumbe University - Main Campus while a programme with the code MMB is offered at Mzumbe Univ

    The Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Research and Consultancy, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) invites suitably qualified candidates for admission into various programmes for the academic year 2019/2020.

Applicants are required to apply directly to the University through an online application portal available at: www.hkmu.ac.tz  with a non-refundable application fee of TZS 50,000 or US$ 50 deposit receipt made to the University' account.

Students should indicate the school/department of their choice and the duration of their intended stay as per the application form
Students must stay for the whole period of studies
No remuneration or financial aid for students is available except for those coming under an exchange programme
A student will be discontinued on any serious breach of University regulations or irregular attendance.

Admissions Committee
The Admissions Committee will be presented with short-listed candidates, by the admissions Officer. The final approval for admission will be granted by Senate. Candidates who do not meet the conditions for admission as stated in the Prospectus will be notified after application. Approved students are required to present original certificates for the Admissions Office to authenticate them.

Transferring Students
Careful scrutiny will done, confidential report must be brought from the Institution the candidate was previously admitted. Transfer due to discontinuation, disciplinary or poor academic performance will not be accepted. For a transferring student to get the University's qualification, at least 50% of the training, must take place at the University. Students who do not have transferable credits will have to sit and pass relevant end of semester examinations as matriculation.

Visiting Students
Admission of Visiting Students or special admission will operate under the Principle of Academic Credit Transfer. Under this scheme HKMU and the other institutions will communicate and agree on the transfer. Students who have completed one or two years of higher education elsewhere may be admitted to complete the course. For students who are transferring permanently, careful review will be done. Incase of doubt, especially regarding academic performance, the transferred student will be required to repeat the course.

Occasional Students (Electives)

Non-members of the University who wish to carry out elective period attachments at HKMU, will be admitted by approval of the Dean of the Faculty and Chairperson of the department concerned, and upon payment of fees. Such persons are not eligible to take University Examinations.

Application Procedures for Electives
Interested applicants should send a letter of intent to HKMU, with the following attachments:

  • A letter of introduction from the current University or College
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • 2 passport size photographs
  • A summary of the objectives of the proposed electives.

Once applications are accepted, students should process Visa and medical insurance from their country . On arrival, they will be required to pay an elective fee of US$400, for four weeks of study duration.The University will help non- East African nationals’ students to obtain class C residence permits (this should be done well in advance, although assistance will also provide on their arrival). Documents required for permit are:

Photocopy of their passport
CV
Birth Certificate
Letter of introduction from their respective Universities
Duly filled immigration forms
Five passport size photographs
A residence permit fee of US$250.
East African nationals (Kenya,Uganda ,Burundi and Rwanda) will have to apply for exemption certificates which are obtained free of charge.

International Students

The University understands the importance of diverse cultural experiences to a growing nation like Tanzania. International students are admitted if they have qualifications required of Tanzania students. They must also be English speakers.

The University requires all new students to report to the University, on the opening of the University for the orientation programme. An important programme  that will introduce new students to the University's campus, facilities, staff and regulations.

Registration
Students can only be registered after paying the required fees.The deadline for registration for all students will be a month from the opening of the University. A student who fails to register at the beginning of the semester in the time will lose the right to register for that semester.

The prospective students are requested to consult the Undergraduate AdmissionGuidebook prepared annually by TCU at www.tcu.or.tz for more details.
i). Direct Entry
For form six applicants the minimum entry qualification is two principal passes in relevant A-Level subjects totaling 4.0points(except programmes at the College of HealthSciences 4.5 and 5)and three credits at ‘O’Level.
ii). Recognition of Prior Learning
For the applicants with RPL qualification the minimum qualification is ‘B’ grade.
iii). Equivalent qualifications
For Diploma applicants the minimum entry qualification is at least Four O level passes(D’s and above)or NVA level III with less than four O level passes or equivalent foreign qualifications as established by either NECTA or VETA.
AND
(i) Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) with at least GPA of 3.0; or
(ii) Full Technician Certificate (FTC) with at least points average of 3.0 (where A=5, B=4, C=3, and D=2points); or
(iii) Diploma in Teacher Education with an average of ‘B’ grade; or
(iv) Health related awards such as clinical medicine and others with an average of ‘B’ grade; or
(v) Credit class diploma for classified diplomas and certificates in terms of‘distinctions, credit or pass’ or
(vi) Lower Second Class diploma for classified non-NTA diplomas;
Note: Two grading systems are currently operational:
a. Applicants who completed Form Four andForm six in 1988-2013 use the old system where A to E are considered as principal passes with S being a subsidiary pass. The grades are weighed as follows A = 5, B = 4, C= 3, D = 2, E = 1 and S= 0.5.
b. For applicants who completed their studies in 2014 and beyond, the principal passes are 'A' to 'D'. The grades are weighed as follows A= 5, B+ = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1 and E = 0.5.

ADMISSION INTO UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES FOR 2019/2020 ACADEMIC YEAR




The University of Dar es Salaam invites applications for admission from qualified candidates into its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the 2019/2020 Academic Year.  In this academic year, the University will offer a total of 98 undergraduate programmes and more than 189 Postgraduate Programmes leading to the award of certificates, diplomas, bachelor degrees, postgraduate diplomas, masters and PhD.  For more information, you may download details at the links : Undergraduate Admission Procedures Guidebook or Postgraduate Admission Procedures Guidebook

All requisite information and guidelines to take the applicant through the application stages are provided from the respective Instructions tab. ie.  UNDERGRADUATE  tab  for those applying for Certificates, diplomas and  bachelor degrees and POSTGRADUATE tab for those applying for    postgraduate-diplomas, masters and PhD .

Applicants are reminded to register their names as they appear in Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) including index numbers where prompted.



Undergraduate applicants with foreign certificates are required to first present their certificates to the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for verification at: www.necta.go.tz.. NECTA will issue them letters showing equivalence numbers and grades. Applicants with equivalent qualifications (e.g. holders of diplomas and certificates) are advised to obtain an award verification number (AVN) from the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) at www.nacte.go.tz. 

Postgraduate applicants with Foreign Certificates should have their certificates verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) at http://faas.tcu.go.tz/login.php upon receipt of admission letter and prior to joining the University of Dar es Salaam for studies.

NEW APPLICANTS

Stage 1: Registration for an admission account:

    Register for an account in our system through the button (REGISTRATION) at the UNDERGRADUATE tab
     Note: to register for an account in the admission system you will need to supply the following details:

  • First name
  • Surname
  • Email Address
  • Mobile Telephone Number
  • To finalize registration you will need to put in a password of your choice that you will use whenever you wish to log into the admission system.
  • And lastly fill in the characters captcha as will be shown in the page, i.e. Captcha then click register button at the bottom to register for an account. 

If you are successfully registered, then the system will send an email to your email address, please log into your email account to activate your admission account.

Use the link sent into your email to log into our Admission system.
Note: at this stage. Your username is: your email address
                               Your Password is:   the password you supplied

Stage 2: make application:

When you are successfully logged into your account you will find notification that your account is successfully activated (please open the notification)
Click at    My Application button to start application
You will be presented with four[4] steps to finish the application
              Step 1: MY PROFILE  

Chose application category:
Write names as they appear in your secondary certificates
sex, Country of Citizenship and Disability Type if any
              Step 2: APPLICATION FEE PAYMENT

Non-refundable Application Fees are  :
Local Students:  TZS. 10,000.00 (Ten Thousand only)  for bachelor degrees
Local Students:  TZS. 20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand only)  for Diploma and Certificate Programmes
Foreign Students USD. 45.00  (forty five US Dollar only)
For Tanzanians : use the reference number shown in admission system to pay application fee by using mobile money services ie. Mpesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, etc. 



Foreign Applicants:  application fee is payable using the SWIFT code: NLCBTZTX through A/C Number: 012105005554, University of Dar es Salaam,  NBC Bank, Samora Branch. 


 Payment procedures of application fee for local students using mobile money services are detailed below: 

           Use the reference number and the amount shown there after getting control number , to pay application fee by using mobile money services
            ie. Mpesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money etc.

           Open your mpesa by dialling *150*00#

           Then chose 4 LIPA kwa M-Pesa

           Then chose 4 Weka namba ya kampuni

After payment, the system will automatically update and allow you to proceed to step3

 Step 3: ACCADEMIC QUALIFICATION

For Direct Entry applicants with both form IV and VI results from NECTA
           Add index number and year and choose level

           Example:
           Index no: S0110/0092/2014        level   O-LEVEL

          Then click add sitting

           Index no: S0110/0088/2017         level   A-LEVEL

            Then click add sitting
  if you have multiple sittings then you can add all sittings that you wish to be considered in the  selection process.

        2. For Equivalent applicants with form IV results from NECTA

             Add index number and year and choose level

          Then upload your Diploma certificates in the system in PDF format

       3.  For applicants with foreign certificates,  you will need to put results in the system
            and upload certificates in PDF format

Step 4: PROGRAMME CHOICES

Choose from the List of available Programmes and the application choice number.

Note: choose the  programmes in the selected List and if  you put choice 1, means that is your first choice, the second is your second choice…etc.


the selection proces will also consider your choice priorities
